"Post Vaccine" Hatha Yoga - Tuesdays 5:00-6:10PM​ 10-class series, begins 11/2

Class is limited to 8 students - class may be joined at anytime if space is available

WHS welcomes back our fine instructor, Gigi Lee, with her traditional, yet flowing, Yoga style. We know everyone misses in-person yoga classes but the only really safe way to offer classes is to permit only students that have been vaccinated to attend and, even then, to require appropriate safety measures. This ten-class series will be limited to eight participants. Please contact Sabrina at 919.489.5355 for registration. We will begin as soon as we have a minimum of five students.

GIGI LEE, Certified Yoga Instructor, has 20+ years of experience teaching yoga, including founding the yoga programs at the Duke Faculty Club and the Croasdaile Retirement Village. She is a graduate of the Blue Point Yoga 200-hr teacher training program. Gigi has a passion and commitment to share the wealth and benefits that a yoga practice has to offer. Her practice highlights sequences that incorporate strength, flexibility and balance, linking breath with movement, and above all tapping into the ever-present mind body connection.

"Post Vaccine" Gentle Yoga - Thursdays 4:30-5:45PM​ 10-class series

Class is limited to 8 students - This class may be joined at anytime

If you need a slow, gentle way to practice yoga, this class is for you. Whether you need a safe introduction to yoga or you seek a way to successfully reconnect to yoga, the slower pace of this class will help make your postures more accessible.

Goals include:

-Stretching for increased flexibility

-Improvement of balance to decrease risk of falling

-Gradual increases in strength to protect against aggravating former injuries

-An emphasis on deep relaxation

Gentle yoga is often offered as a practice designed for seniors as a means for “graceful aging,” and indeed it is, but we also know the design and focus of this class is good for any age and level of ability.
